262 Days to go. Whoa!

So yeah. Less than 9 months to go and I am starting to get REALLY excited about setting more plans in stone. Now that I'm actually able to save money for the wedding, it feels sooo much better. All thanks to my handy dandy Blockbuster 2nd job, we have a chance to save $500 more a month than what was originally planned on.... and that will definitely help out the honeymoon expense.

So we are going to the Grand Canyon in Sedona, Arizona for our honeymoon. February 19th - 22nd, 2010. I'm so excited! I can't wait. We just now, today, reserved the Bed & Breakfast, The Penrose Sedona B&B. The picture below, is the B&B. Yes. It is. Not joking. It will be that spectacular! I've researched and researched, and researched a little more on where to stay in Sedona, and all the good reviews go to this one. Not a bad one anywhere. Very good!

The view from the room we'll be staying in.
The Cococino.
Oh yeah. Perfection!
Oh I will be bringing my drawing supplies and paints. Oh yes. I will.

I've always wanted to stay in a B&B. So this will be great! We are doing the Honeymoon package, which includes 3 nights stay, 2 dinners at our choice of thier selected restaurants, and our choice of 2 activities (horseback riding, Jeep tours, train ride, massage, etc...). We have the choice to have breakfast in the dining room or have it brought out on our balcony.

The only teeny downside to it, my love doesn't do planes. So we are looking at at least at 16 hour drive there. So most likely we will start heading on the road on Feb. 18th, after either of us get off work. Spend the night at a motel or camp out somewhere along the way and keep going early the next morning. Checkin is at 1pm on Friday, the 19th. So I want to try to make it around that time, but we will see.

Vroom vroom.

271 Days - Honeymoon ideas and other stuff

So, my brother is going to hurt me, but I want balloons. He works at Party City and HATES balloons. But I want balloons on the stage at Winfrey Point. I had this idea of black and red heart balloons bundles of them lining the stage from high to low. I think it will be cute, and thats where we can put the favors, little bags of Hershey's Kisses or red hots.

Another idea for a bouquet. Above has those cute berries I like. And below is the color scheme, but I also want some green roses mixed in there too.
So I won't have "real" dishes, ignore that part. Look at the stationary. I think that's awesome! And thats the look I am looking at for my stationary.

I want to see if I can find vintage valentine cards online or something. I don't know what I will do with them yet, but I want to do something.

Gorgeous cookies! A possible idea for favors, maybe?

I love it! David's grooms cake will have Donald Duck theme. I wonder if I could find any Donald Duck Valentines cards? Hmmm.....

I have a couple of honeymoon ideas. Originally, it was a cruise. But we have since ventured out of that and discovered more unique options:

1. Camping in Arkansas. Above is a picture from Petit Jean State Park. The best rated State Park in Arkansas and from the pictures it is BEAUTIFUL!!! 5 years ago, I wouldn't have even thought about camping, but last years camping trip with my small group kind of changed my whole idea that camping is no fun. It can be enjoyable! So that is one option.

2. Road Trip. We could do a road trip around Texas, or go to a different state, Arizona? Colorado? Who knows... its something different.

3. Jefferson, TX. Very cute romantic/ghost story town. David is itching to go spend the night in Jefferson Hotel, which is haunted. And I kind of want to do the railroad trip... And Jefferson is right next door to Gladewater... THE antique town. So I am kind of loving that idea.

4. Colorado cabin. My aunt has a cottage in Colorado that I may be able to use. Or we can rent a cabin or cottage for not too bad of a price. So we can just relax and enjoy the views of beautiful Colorado and explore the area.

5. Vegas. Maybe. This is a big maybe because he will probably lose us a lot of money there. But I would be there mostly because of the shows.

Pictures of venues!

So I took a TON of pictures on one of my days off last week of both of the venues. First up is the Lake Highlands Baptist Church, where the ceremony will be held. Its a really beautiful church, and I am very excited to get married there. Above is the outside front of the church.

Kind of a dark picture, but that is the alter.

Doesn't have the middle ailse, but it will do. I will just walk in on the other side.

Winfrey Point

Isn't that a gorgeous view of White Rock Lake?

The yucky tables and chairs that if I use, they will need to be covered.

The ladies bathroom vanity area.

Front hallway

Excuse the mess, I walked in while maintenance painted the building.

There is the stage.
